Build Build Build
I recently saw an interview with Andrew Ng, founder of DeepLearning.AI about harnessing the power of AI and at the end of the interview he was asked about what advice he would give to others when it comes to using Artificial Intelligence (AI). He immediately and enthusiastically said these three words: "Build, Build, Build!"
His response got me to thinking about the education space and the learning and development space, the two spaces I traverse and it made me wonder how we can harness this same mindset to improve systems, to solve complex problems, and to learning solutions with needs.
Earlier in the interview he was explaining how he utilizes AI and two tips stood out:
Have a Clear Concept - AI is a powerful brainstorming partner, however, due to the prompt dependent nature of these systems, developing a fully formed concept is essential. A fully formed concept, he explained, is narrowing focus and determining exactly the parameters of what you want AI to do for you.
Utilize Multiple AI platform Simultaneously - Many people who are new to harnessing the power of AI will rely on one platform to create solutions. However, Ng shared that he utilizes multiple platforms simultaneously because they each offer something slightly differently.
Translating Into Practice
In the education space, what can and does this mantra of "build, build, build" look like? Education currently is already a "build, build, build" space in that new initiatives are rolled out on a yearly basis. However, how can we utilize multiple AI platforms to develop a clear concept of the problem we want to solve, how we want to develop, monitor, roll out the initiative, and how we can sustain the initiative to actualize student or teacher growth and achievement?
In the learning and development space, how can we harness the power of AI to "build, build, build" learning solutions that align with KPIs and bring sustainable growth and change to the company mission?
Much like AI itself, this article is a starting point, a brainstorming partner, and a launching point for what comes next. What will you "build, build, build"?
